Inland M1 Carbine Date of Manufacture?

I just picked up a Inland M1 carbine serial number 574242 with a Inland/General Motors barrel dated 8-43. I was hoping someone could tell me when it was manufactured. Thanks.

  We have little date information for USGI M1 carbines. The low number on your receiver would put it in Inland's first batch, early in the war; the barrel is likely a replacement.

  barto, no dates on receiver. Just like the Garand, the only date stamps are on the barrel. However, based on serial #s you can find out date of manufacture of rec. Garand parts can be dated by the numbers on each operating part.
  I am not an expert, but have a Inland Carbine and a Springfield M1.
