Rock River or Bushmaster???
I will be in the market for a AR-15 and I am having a hard time trying to decide which MFG I should go with. Any opinions or personal experciences would be great. I have heard that Colt is good but you pay more for the name. What do ya'll think???

I have National Match versions of both Bushmaster and RockRiver. They are both better than you(or me) are. Buy which ever one is cheaper at your store. Use the money you saved to buy ammo. Either rifle will do right by you. Colt is a wonderful name if you like buying a wonderful name it is just the rifle for you. It will not shoot any better than the other ones. Beach 0 -
The Colt will hold its value better if you decide to sell or trade in the future. 0 -
Armalite makes a very good AR type rifle. Bushmasters have always been good. I prefer the original AR180's. My 2 cents [8D]

Me and my buddy both have ROCK RIVERS . They are the A-4 type, 22" hvy bl with 1-12, 2 stage match trigs and they will shoot inch and a half groups at 220 yds with Ultramax 55 gr v-max factory loads. We haven't tried reloading for them yet cause we don't think we can load a round that will be as accurate and these bullets are only $17 for 50 rounds at Dicks.

If you are even going to think about shooting heavy bullets in what ever AR you buy look at a 1 in 7 or 1 in 8 twist. Those twists will handle from 69 grain to 77 grain with no difficulty. the 1 in 12 twist is not suitable for heavier bullets.Beach 0 -
I agree with Beach's posts. RRA or Bushy are both great rifles. I have a RRA Varminter that is OUTSTANDING.

Have RRA, wanted a Bushy but I couldn't reason the extra $$$. Love RRA, both are great guns. You will not go wrong with either. DPMS and Armorlite are great too. If its avialable buy it. I know I had to wait to get what I wanted. 0
