Anyone Know About Norinco 97 Trench Guns?
I got one from an auction here.
The claim was that there was a Davidson Guarantee, but I have no such paperwork at all. I called the guy and he said that the ser# is registered. I thought Ok fair enough.
But...
The only serial number I can find is magic markered on the box.
Nothin on the weapon.
I am not saying that I am unhappy with the gun at this stage, but there are some confusions that need to be cleared up if someone out there can help me with this.
I have these issues with the darned thing:
I can't find a serial number on the metal anywhere.
I can't find the name "Norinco" (even on the box) anywhere.
There is no safety.
The "owners manual" is about the same one you get for some chinese pot holder or something... completely devoid of necesary information.
I have no clue how to take it down to REALLY clean it.
Here's some particulars:
Right side receiver has of course, US and a bursting bomb.
Left side has nothing.
Bottom has Made in China, of course
Ride side of barrel: [AC BILLERICA MA. CHINA S.D.]
Top of barrel: 12GA 23/4"
Left side barrel: MODEL 97
Outside of box calls it a 97TW whatever that means. I thought it was only a 97T.
Now if this is the way they come, then ok. (You will be telling me that these come the same way as that junk in the 99 cent stores) I'm just really skeptical because nothing is making sense other than the imitation marks. Know what I mean? Hey look, I bought a Norinco but nothin SAYS norinco about it.
I would appreciate any clarity that I can get here.

Is this a 'trench gun' model? if so the number may be under the heat shield.seems I read somewhere that they were.
wish i could be more help,odd that nothing says Norinco anywhere.

I finally found the ser# after someone told me where it is. It is located on the receiver. It is on the front face where the barrel and magazine meet the receiver. Sort of out of the way. But I found that at least.
