remington 700 s/a l/a ??

I have a rem mod 700 bdl.270. How do you tell if it is short action or long action?

  270 is a long action. short action will be for 308 and smaller rounds in rem 700. long action will be 30-06 based calibers and other longer rounds. then they have magnum and ultra magnum actions which are pretty self explanatory.
  
  I'm not an expert, but i did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
