Winchester 55 OK to use Hi-Vel Ammo?

I bought a Winchester 55 Single Shot Semi-auto at the Louisville gun show a couple of weeks ago. This rifle is very accurate,even though it is an open-bolt gun. I'm wondering if it is OK to shoot Hi-Velocity cheap ammo thru this gun, or should stick with shorts and Sub-Sonic stuff. Thanks for the help.

    Hello Mooseyard,

    The Model 55 was developed to use standard velocity .22 LR ammo. It will most likley shoot hi-vel ammo, but if it were me, I would stick with the standard velocity ammo.
