Bolt, 308, 20-22?-Semi heavy, Synthetic - Options?
Gentlemen!
What would be my options if I want an "out-of-the-box" (not custom):
1. Bolt action,
2. 308 Win,
3. 20-22" Semi heavy barrel with 1:10-12 twist,
4. Synthetic stock,
5. Preferably integrated magazine (but I can live with detachable)

Personally, I say the LE series. I have the 10FPLE2A and I love it. The other 10FPLE models are offered with a 20" bbl. Happy shopping!0 -
Given the 20-22" barrel length, Savage is about the only option with a medieum/heavy barrel. 24" is a lot more common, if you can stretch the 2" ruger,winchester, browning and tikka come in to play. 0 -
OK, gentlemen.
Allow me to open my cards.
The plan is - a beginner's silhouette gun which could easily go into the bushes when needed. Not too heavy, not too long I'd even say short. Very good balance. And plastic.
I personally own Savage 10FP-LE1A, I also love it but it is too darn heavy (as well as my Rem 700 VS) for this kind of exercise, and I was considering those barels as "Heavy" not "semi". My mistake. Something a bit thinner than Savage LE series, and Rem 700 VS/P but not as those thin pipes on hunting guns. Let's call that kind "semi-light".

I would look at the winchester m70 coyote lite....synthetic.....24in fluted heavy bbl.....weighing in at a tad over 7 1/2lbs.....looks like what the doctor ordered[:D]

I have Remington 700P LTR (Police Light Tatical Rifle) and that sounds exactly like what you want. It is not real light weight (not sure on weight) but it fits the rest. It has a 20" fluted heavy BBL, glass beaded Kevlar stock. It will easily shoot under 1 MOA. If you look arround you can find a package deal that includes a Leupold tatical, I belive 4-14x50, scope and hard case for arround $1400.

First of all, thanks to all of you for your replies.
According to Remington's catalog, Model 700 LV SF, unfortunately, doesn't come in 308.
Winchester 70 Coyote is just a tiny bit longer than I want, same as Remington 700 SPS.
Remington 700P LTR!.. That's what my mind was "designing". I'm kind of guessing that my 700VS is going to have a shorter brother
