Winchester 1897 Takedown?

Did Winchester make the 1897 shotgun in a takedown version? If so how does it come apart?

  If Im not mistakin there is a Win. 1897 pump that breaks in half with a half twist. it has a exposed hammer. If it is the model im thinking of, a lot of cowboy shooters use this weapon. now my curiosity is going. Any input.....

  The vast majority of the Winchester Model 1897/97s are Takedowns, and as gunut 1 stated, they come apart just like the Model 1912/12 (with a 1/4 counter clockwise twist).
