Beretta Garand

Any one have any information about the Beretta Garands? Blue Book says only 200 imported. What is the history on these rifles?

    The Italian military adopted the M1 rifle after WWII. They used surplus US rifles until supplies were exhausted, & began making their own in 1952. Some of the tooling used was from Winchester; many small parts were made by Beretta & Breda. They are well made, but there has never been a lot of collector interest in them.

    Hello Garyd,
    there were a lot og Beretta and Breda Garand's in the second "lot" that was imported for use in the Danish Defence Forces.
    When no more in use, they were sold to a Canadian company (many of them anyway) and as far as know - made into spare-parts.
    I never heard any body make any complains about them, they were no better ore worse than the Winchester ore Sprinfield made guns.
    (we had no IHC ore HAR made Garands)
    In my opinion the Garand is the best gun ever made. And the 30-06 the best all-round caliber. The perfect macht.

    My thoughts were that the Beretta Garands were a combination of spare parts and there own tooling in the beginning. I did not know from which company they received there tooling. Does any one know if the Beretta Garands imported into the U.S. consist of parts all tooled by Beretta? My guess is the answer is no. When did production of the Beretta Garand cease?
