Real Worth Of Pre 64 Mod 70
As usual I ran up on a heck of a deal when I am short of funds but I can do it if I have to.Its a pre 64 model 70 in 30-06 about 98%+ with German Zeiss scope(not a Conquest).I can get it for a grand.The same guy has a model 43,I think, 22 Hornet with a Weaver of about the same time period for 800 bucks.Do it or not? Thanks.

Exactly when was the Model 70 manufactured? The price you list is very close to the top-end value for a pre-64 in 30-06. I will need more information on the Model 43 in order to determine if the asking price is realistic... please start with serial numbers for both of those rifles, then describe the features of each. The Model 43 was offered in several different grades... which one is it?

Bert is correct need more info. The pre-64 is at the top end. See them go for $575-750 max unless it is a Super Grade. The Model 43 was from '49-'57. Deluxe and Standard. Deluxe was checkered with a pistol grip pad. .218 Bee, 22 Hornet, 25-20, and 32-20. Depending on condition, model, and caliber you are at the high end again. Have all four 43's in Deluxe and only gave a lil over $800 for one of em.

The Model 70 price minus the scope came down to 575 today.May give it another day or two to see what happens. 0
