What is a bonded warehouse and why are they needed. What is an example of someone using their service ??

Also, are they usually located at ports or airports or can they be at any location.

  Bonded warehouses are like gigantic safe deposit boxes. You have to sign in and have to record everything going in and out. Here in the US, Customs require that commercial shipments to firearms importers be kept in bonded warehouses until they are inspected to ensure they comply with our import laws. It greatly adds to the price of those guns and slows things to a crawl.
