Question 2. What make the higher end OUs so much more expensive?

  I have a 525 and there isn't much difference between them other than the grip angle. Great gun!
  To answer your second question with two words, Quality and Features! It's all in how they are made,and what materials are used. Features like selectable barrels and ejectors,engraving/inlay, wood grade, single triggers, choke tubes, back boring,longer forcing cones, porting, adjustable combs and stocks, all bring the value up. The most important thing on an O/U is both barrels hitting the same place, and thats where the quality of craftsmenship comes in. The bottom line on any shotgun is, if it don't fit, you won't hit!

  One other thing is that Browning is great value for the money, but most would not consider Browning a "high end" gun.
  
  I own several brownings, and love them all, but there are several other brands that are true "high end" guns.
