1878 Remington Info
A friend has offered to sell me an 1878 Remington in great condition. I can not find any info on it as far as value, calibers, etc. Any info on value or website with info would be appreciated.

Well, the good news is that it's a Remington Rolling Block - the
semi-bad news is that ir's going to be hard to ID it exactly
without any kind of ID marks.
Remington made them for Americans, as well as a number of
export markets, Egyption, Spanish, South American, etc.
There was a #1, #2, #3, #4, etc.
Now what you can do is to go to the onliune gun auctions and
look for your model best you can by trying to eyeball the right
config.
If you want to save a little time use Ebang.com ... it's kinda
fast when checking out the auctions as it checks them for you
all at once!
