I have a Winchester 1300 Defender 8-Shot in 12ga. that I paid $275.00 for new in box. I love it! I think its one of the finest shotguns I've ever owned. The "Speed Pump" action is very smooth and light. It is my main home defense gun. 0 -
Thanks for the info. I have a Mossberg 500, but am also considering one of these.

I love my Winchester Stainless Marine Defender. (I live in a saltwater area.) It is my choice for Close Encounters of the Worst Kind.
The only caveat is that you have to be careful when reassembling it; it is possible to make a mistake that can put it out of action.

If anyone is interested:
I have a Choate Side Folding Stock, in excellent condition and valued at $80.
I'd be willing to trade for a Choate or Butler Creek Side Folding Stock for the Ruger 1022. I would also be interested in High Capacity Magazines, as long as the trade is equal in value.
I tried listing the stock a while back on this website as well as Ebay; needless to say, I didn't get any bites.
Maybe this shotgun isn't as popular as I thought.
Well if anyone is interested, please let me know.0 -
I bought a black synthetic just like brand new on GB for $150 including shipping. I had the barrel threaded for winchokes and can use it for home defense with the I/C choke or screw in a Turkey choke and go hunting or stillboard shooting. I also have used it dove hunting ( double plugged ) for 3 shots with a modified choke. 0 -
Maybe not my BEST scatterpump but it's certainly
my FAVORITE! A short barreled '97 was up until
the day I bought it! Easy to handle and dependable
... can't beat that combo!
