Mauser Info?

Anyone have a quick way of telling what caliber\cartridge a Mauser 98 is? THANKS!!

  Without having the Rifle in My/Our Hands...Not Really! A complete and Total discription of the gun might be of some help...But As a Wild Guess.....Most Likely an 8mm.Mauser if in Original Military Configuration...Post every Letter, Figure, Number and Stamp You can find...I/We'll try and give You an answer...........

  Mauser 98s are also chambered in 7x57 as
  well as in other calibers. MOST are 8mm
  but by no means all.
