Remington shotgun info....

I have had this shotgun since high school(class of '78). I don't think I have shot it since. Please click on the link http://groups.msn.com/My68BlackFirebird/kelsguns.msnw?Page=1 to view pictures of the gun. There are 6 pictures. Can anyone tell me about it and how much it's worth? Thanx, kel

    I bought a Remington 870 Express 12ga shotgun a couple years ago, used. This gun had 15 rounds through it and sat in a closet for 15yrs (according to previous owner).

    I'm going to use it for Spring turkey but, I'm not sure of the chambering.
    The previous owner doesn't remember but thinks it'll take 3" Magnums.
    There is a warning about 2 3/4in and 3in loads on the barrel but nothing that indicates what the chambering is otherwise.

    Is there a link to a website that'll tell me more about this shotgun?
    Or should I write Remington directly and ask them?

    $200 max, probably $150. That's a Remington Model 11--the first autoloader made in the states, using John Browning's patents. Problem is that poly-choke on the end of your barrel. If that hadn't been added, you'd probably be looking at $400 or more.

    These are values that I would pay for the gun as described, or what other people have in the past. Actual values vary with markets and the like.

    You have a model 11A made 1911 to 1948 it looks like vented rib my blue book shows $165-440 if it has a herters polly choke add 100 as premium.tks hedge

    The value of your Remington Model 11 is as a shooter only.
    The cut stock and barrel kill any pricing over $125.00.
    The wood does not match as the stock does not appear to be
    checkered as the forearm is. The dial a duck was added as the barrel is marked full. Herters did not make the Poly-Choke and you sure as heck do not add for a non factory choke device. The gun is an early one as it has the safety inside the trigger guard. The Blue Book
    is not even a good guide. Shoot and enjoy. 101
