Since they quit making the Camp Carbines 6 years ago, they will be a little harder to find.
The blue books lists them for $340.00 in 100% cond and $230.00 in 98% cond. There are lots of places to look.

if you can find a used marlin 45 for under 400 , you will be doing good ,, most are going in the 500 range 0 -
Read an article on the ballistics of the .45 ACP out of a carbine. It actually had less veloctiy and energy than out of a pistol firing the same round. The powder burns up quick in a .45ACP and barrel drag impacts velocity. This is not true with the 9mm in carbine length rifles. You get an increase in velocity and thus more energy out of a 9mm in a carbine. The .45 ACP reaches maximium velocity in a gun with an 8" barrel. Moral of the story, a 45ACP carbine offers no advantage in knock down power over a pistol, the 9mm does. This is probably one of the reasons the old 'tommy guns' had 10" barrels. And maybe the reason the old .45 Camp Carbines did not survive. I would think the 9mm to be more desirable for that reason alone, let alone cheaper to shoot.

Velocity is defiantly not a selling point of these carbines, they are cheap to shoot but most of all fun to shoot.

There is not just one .45 ACP round.
There are plenty of .45 ACP loads -- lighter bullets and +P powder loads -- that will make a Camp 45 perform (measured in bullet velocities and energy) at a level far better than any .45 ACP pistol.

I have been trying to get a Marlin 45 for qiute a while. I wish Marlin would bring them back into production. I was told they were easily converted to full auto and that is why Marlin dropped them. I am not willing to shell out the $500 or $600 most are going for. I remeber looking at one new for $379. It had a dark walnut stock with checkering. I wish I had bought it.

If they brought the MCC out in a 10mm and it accepted high capapacity mags, then I would want to buy one. The 45 ACP just don't get it. An MCC in 10mm would make a good self defense camp gun for critters with 2 and 4 legs.
BTW, the article I read had both standard ball ammo and +p .45 rounds shot through the gun, and the velocity decrease was noted in all rounds. That is when I decided not to get a MCC in .45. I would take a 9mm MCC anyday, plus they accept 9mm high cap mags.
