Another AK question - about calibers....
Do the .223 AK's feed and operate as reliably as the 7.62X39 caliber?
I have an AR and thought it might be good to keep the same bulk supply of ammo, but this question has bothered me a little.

Yes they feed well, as long as you use a well contructed mag. The .223 mags are becoming a little difficult to find and are more expensive than 7.62 x39
all in all, the .223 ak is an excellant shooter !!! JUst my opinion !!!!0 -

hatchettman know a sourse for .223 mags? i looked on ak47.net's EE but they seem to want alot,..if im am gonna pay factory new prices i want factory new mags, in any color ,.. or lack of color

Cruzie27, I saw your new AK, Super nice!!!! The mag you have with it looks alot like a .223 Galil mag. If it is , these are super quality, but, pretty expensive, not that hard to find, sometimes they are listed on Gb auction, Once again, super nice AK---Hatchettman 0 -
I found as long as you don't shoot hollow points, it is a smooth as 7.62. Hollow points don't want to feed right on either, my experience anyway. 0 -

its a Bulgy mag,.. its got the ten in double circles ((10)) but un like my other mags for my 5.45 with the same mark,.. these have the caliber stamped on them too
the hp can be problematic in all calibers but its all thats avaiable sometimes,.. depends on the how your rifle likes the hp
but for FMJ or SP i never have a problem with the gun feeding it0 -
I had a SAR3 and it would digest all the ammo I put into it. I used the German made mags and never had a jam do to the rifle or mag. My 2 cents [8D]
