winchester 37 28ga
Hello, I have a 28ga 37 with a "Modified" choke, 26" bbl and a shorter length of pull. Could this be a youth model? It's the real thing and the stock and barrel havent been cut either.

Another question.
Anyone know what a Winchester Model 37 28 gauge single shot shotgun might be worth? I do know that it is a "Red Letter" and is in about 95% overall condition. Very very nice gun. I bought it for $250 from an old farmer who's father bought it and only fired it a few times. I see most of the other gauges going for $300-400 in the same condition, but I don't see any 28 gauge.
Any help would be appreciated.

You have a rare bird there....Bert would be the expert to answer all the old Winchester questions. I know they did make youth model 37's. Can you send a picture ? 0 -

That is indeed a rare gun if it is factory original. The vast % of Model 37 shotguns were manufactured with the standard length barrel and Full choke. Your Model 37 has a barrel that is 2-inches shorter than standard, and the Modified choke was a special order option. There were no specific "youth" models listed or manufactured to the very best of my knowledge. Dave (only winchesters) may have some information that I am not aware of. I am sure that he too will reply to this topic.
