    Ive tried several different brands of cold blue solutions and have learned that there is no " one " best. I keep several different ones handy and if one doesnt work try another. what works on one particular tpe of steel and how its tempered may vary.
    Blue Wonder does good but is a lot more complicated and messy . Brownells Oxpho- Blue is simple to use and does an excellent job a lot of times. When it works or suits a piece of metal it is a very pretty color and is the toughest of all ,even harder to scar or remove than hot blue.
    Buy several brands to keep on your work bench and if one doesnt do it try another.

    Question ? who carries the blue wonder ...we keep some brownells oxy-blue on hand ...just curious ?????

    Brownells seems to work good. I think preparation is important and type of steell. I make sure it is free of oil and warm it up a little. Not hot, but warm.

    When I use the Oxpho Blue on smaller parts I go as far as putting the degreased and preped parts in a pot of hot/boiling water for a minute or so to get them good and warm, apply the bluing, rinse in hot water and spay with oil. It is rare to not get excellent results with this process.

    brownells dircopan IM, apply w/clean 0000 steel wool. wash with windex (or similar) then oil.

    ..Brownells Oxpho-Blue creme is the best I've used in the shop. Blue Wonder has never done what it says it will do on anything I've tried. My 2 cents...
