Ceramic tumbling media ???'s
Anybody use ceramic media for cleaning their brass casings? If so, what size and shape, and do you use any sort of liquid cleaner? I have a dillon tumbler. Any helpful tips or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

I have ceramic that I can use in the Dillon 2000 and a larger commercial grade tumbler. They are about 1/4" and I add a capfull of liquied but I cant remember what it is. It is very good for very corroded cases but you have to tumble them again in treated corncob as they come out a satin finish. I buy my material from an abrasive company. 0 -
Is the media round or the little pegs??? I bought both to try but have heard that you usually use some other type of liquid in the media. I wonder if standard case cleaning liquid would work??? 0 -
They are karger at end than the other and green. I haven't used them in a while.Call BCS Co. in Thompson, Ct. (don't have the number right now. Ask them what they are using for the liquid. 0 -
I use the white tubular media, it's good for 38-50 caliber cases. For bottleneck cases you need to use a smaller media. I got mine from www.blackdogtargets.com ($40.00 for 8# with 1 qt. burnishing compound)
www.sagebrushproducts.com also has it for $44.99 for 8#. You can use a bit of dish detergent and water for the compound. The media is quite heavy, that and the weight of the brass adds up. I have a Midway vibratory cleaner and that is one of the few that won't work...not enough power. Rotary cleaners work good and I bought a used Lortone especially for using the ceramic cleaner. The stuff really cleans the cases great and doesn't stick in primer pockets! Emery
