410 shotgun

I was told by a person that the 444 marlin could be loaded with the 410 shotgun components, and used in the 2.5" 410 chambers. What about this?

  I know you can with a .45-70. Pattern is not to great because if the rifling. To have a few with your hunting rifle to take small birds like grouse at short range is great. Not many people do, but if you plan on reloading them for get it, the brass really expands.

  i regularly reload 444 marlin brass with black powder, wad, & shot with a card over-shot glued in place with elmers and fire it in my 410. it works fine and produces a reasonably dense pattern with #8 shot at up to about 35 - 40 yards. i use large pistol primers to keep pressures down, although with the short shell case I don't think it much matters. 45Long Colt cases will work, but they don't hold enough powder & shot to be truly effective. i picked up the tip at a site called "end of times report" or something like that... hope this is somewhat helpful.
