Bushmaster Help

I just traded for a Bushmaster this morning. i know absolutely nothing about them so here is where you come in. it is model xm15-e2s. has totally adjustable sights , yhm picatinny 4 rail forearm, removable muzzle brake, telescoping buttstock, foreward assist, and a grip on it that looks like the one on a PSG. serial number L296xxx. it is an easy 95%. would like approximate value and to know how to get the stock to move. the guy said he never messed with it but said it had some kind of plug in it. pretty much gave $600 for it. worth it? anything i need to know? how to take it apart, i see two pins in it but don't want to mess with them yet. thanks

I'm not an expert, but i did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

    Well worth $600 at 95%. Stock to move? Pull lever in under stock and slide in and out, unless its a fixed stock. The 2 pins are the take down pins, push in the rear pin to pivot the upper assembly, push in both pins to remove the whole upper. Charging handle and bolt will slide right out the rear. Hope that helps. Cant go wrong with the Bushy, excellent rifle, you wont be dissapointed.

    You got a steal for 600 bucks. The forearm alone is well over a hundred bucks. As for the stock not moving, it does sound like it would be a fixed stock, and if it is, is not moveable. Bushmaster has a great downloadable manual for the weapon including takedown, cleaning, and shooting procedures. you can find it at http://www.bushmaster.com/faqnew/content_by_cat.asp?catid=99 Also, they have a serial number lookup feature that I have used, and is great.
