There seems to be better and much more powerfull ammo today, whe shooting from pistols I notice that almost every brand seems to have a different color when fired? I tried about five different types of 22 mag in my revolver and some were blue-white others were an orange was it the short barrell or what? even some of the same brands were of a different color? as in the Winchester, the Dynapoint and Super X seemed completely different, then in the 38 the Silvertip ammo was a blue white color? on some ballastic tests through some wet phone books there was a big difference in results?????????? 9mm designates the bore size. There are a few common 9mm rounds, here is the verbage
.380 ACP=9x17=9mm Kurz=9mm Corto
9mm Makarov=9x18=9.2x18=9mm PM
9mm Luger=9x19=9mm Parabellum=9mm '08=9mm NATO
9mm Largo=9x21
A 9mm Luger round would be the suggested ammo for the 92FS pistol

As the other folks have mentioned, there are several different 9mm rounds. To add to the confusion, the most common 9mm cartridge is known by several different names. As stated above, these are interchangable because they are the same thing. However, different 9mm cartidges are generally NOT interchangable. Part of the challenge is to learn all the different names for the most common 9mm cartridge and then be able to tell the differences between that size and all the rest. Keep in mind that the 9X18 Makarov is slightly bigger around than either the 9mm Luger/parabellum/9X19 or the .380/Kurz/Corto/9X17. It's close. But not the same.

There are a few other "9 mm" round that are NOT 9 mm Luger/Parabellum- They include 9mm Ultra and 9mm Browning Long. Just to keep the carteidge collectors happy![}:)]

For an answer to your first question....about 9mm. LOL ya gotta love typos.
Something to remember also if you get hold of surplus military is to not put MP(machine-pistol, still 9x19) 9mm through your pistol. It is submachinegun ammo and hotter than what your pistol shoots. It can break the slide on a strong 9mm.
