Winchester 30-30 Model 94

I have this 30-30 in average condition. any idea of range of value?

    Hi Everyone,

    Just signed on this morning. I just aquired a Winchester 30-30 Model 94 with a serial number of: 2874758....

    I was looking over the internet trying find out how old this serial number was, year manufactured, etc. Can anyone help me on this?

    I also own an AR-15 A-2, but installed a VN era handguard on it, like the one I had back in 1971-75 while in the Air Force. Also I have a Colt 45 Defender which I hand carry here in the state of Louisiana.

    My Step-Dad is a retired cop, and has about 35-40 rifles & handguns etc, which were in Katrina down in Slidell, LA I went down after they evacuated and salvaged about 14 rifles, a Ruger Stainless 44 mag, and a Browning 22 Auto. Brought them here with about 15,000 rounds of various calibers of ammo, and was able to save it all. He took all his handguns with him when they left the house before the storm. Anyway this is how I came by the 30-30...A gift...

    Appreciate any help ID'ing the serial number above!!

    I would say around 64' - "old model stops in 63' with serialnumber 2.600.011 and "the present model" starts with 2.700.000 - and Winchester produces about 100.000 + 94' a year.

    Thanks Fluw...BTW, is there a web site URL which shows these serial numbers? I'd like to bookmark this if I could. It's older than I thought.

    I'll call my Step-Dad and get some history on it. Where and when he got it, etc...

    This is the site I go to to date Winchesters, fairly accurate but as some on this site will tell you there are some minor innaccuracies especially in the 30's and 40's.

    Thanks guys! And for the URL...I stumbled into one while ago and typed in my serial number. Came back 1965...Cool! 40 years young! I got most of the Katrina corrosion off. Had very little. Very lucky on this weapon.

    Is there also a place where I can order a maintenance book on this? And does anyone know the value of a 30-30 this old? 1965 model

    Values for post-1964 Winnies run around $150-$200 depending on condition.
