20ga slug recommendations...
right now im shooting barnes expanders, and for $10/box...im not really liking how they are shooting, and neither is my shotgun. (ive got a rifled barrel)
if you can give me your .02 of whats good or not good, id appreciate it. thanks guy!

You might want to give the Lightfield Hy-Breds a try, they are available in 20 ga. I can cloverleaf three shot groups at 100 yds, and have a 100% kill rate at ranges of 75-150 yds. Theese are the most impressive slugs I have ever shot. Good luck... 0 -

What kind of shotgun are you shooting ? Do you prefer the 20 ga. for Whitetails over the 12 gauge and if so, why.

As far as the 20 guage goes, I've killed alot of deer with the 20 guage and slugs. They kill just as far and just as quick as the 12 guage does. As far as slugs go, you might want to try the Federal premium slugs. I can't believe the Barnes slugs aren't behaving very good, but I guess different guns like different loads. How far do you plan shooting, and do you have a scope on the gun? Are you using a rest to shoot from? I also hear good things about them new Winchester slugs that have Partition slugs in them. Lots of slugs out there. some good and some not so good I suppose. Lots of experimenting will tell you what too shoot. 0 -

If there is any possibility that you may go up against dangerous / heavy game such as grizzley bear or moose, you might want to check out www.dixieslugs.com. They are not your 5.95 a box at Wally World, but they are the most powerful 20 guage slugs in the world.
J.D.Jones tested some of them in the "bone box" and in compressed-wet newspaper. He said the Colon Powell was wrong --- this was "Shock & Awe".

If the bullets you shot were shooting well and now they are not as accurate try some good Plastic wad solvent. Your rifling may be getting filled with plastic residue from the wads. 0 -

Most 20 ga slugs
are faster then 12,I think the bigger slug
out of a 12 is no real advantage for deer
I 2nd the lightfields , my gun didnt
like the Win gold part or rem copper
