Value/Existance of SS Marlin Camp 9 w/trigger job?
What value on an excellent condition Marlin Camp 9 semi auto 9mm carbine in Stainless Steel and has had a good trigger job done by a gunsmith?

My book says ' no stainless steel" "nickel plating 1991-1994 10 % more" maybe $350.00

the camp 9 does not bring as much as the camp 45, most blued model camp 9 go in the $250(very good) to $300 for a NIB, being that it is stainlees i would think it should bring 25-40 more than a blued model ,,, 0 -
A guy at work, ex-Air Force Security Police and former FFL holder fell into the gun deal of the century. He knows a guy who owns a lot of guns and the stupid guy got like his third DUI which makes him a convicted felon and now no longer able to own guns.
The guy apparently lives out in the sticks and has tried to sell his guns for quite awhile for some reason without success. Might be because the sheriff has all the guns and when a prospective buyer wants to look at them he must go see the sheriff or something like that. Anyway, the DUI guy offers ALL his guns and misc. to the guy at work for the price of about $2,500.00. From what was said for that low price the guy at work is getting numerous S&W 9mm semi-autos, several shotguns, several rifles, tons of ammo and reloading equipment, scopes, even a gun safe. I did a guick mental tally as the guy at work was verbally listing everything he was getting and I estimated at least $10,000.00 worth of used guns.
He said the Marliln Camp 9, which I am interested in, is Stainless Steel but the one poster said non such were made. The guy at work was an FFL and is no dummy so I would hate to think he can't tell the difference between stainless steel and nickle.

in my 20th anniversary edition blue book it says to add 10% for nickel plated camp 9's which where made 1991-1994 model 9N it does NOT say any thing about a stainless steel version ..
I have seen camp 9 up for auction that where said to be stainless steel but I don't know where sure
none of my other books say any thing about stainless either0 -

There was no stainless version. In fact, Marlin only began offering stainless rifles in the last few years, well after the Camp 9 and 45 were discontinued. However, the nickle version does have the appearance of stainless in that it isn't a higly polished surface such as on some S&W revolvers. The Camp 9 in nickle is rather rare as others have pointed out. If you found the right person, you might be able to do far better than just 10% more, maybe as much as 50% more. Best of luck. When the new owner of the camp 9 (the ex-airforce security policeman) finally comes up with an offer to sell price on the carbine, I will surprise him by informing him that is not a stainless carbine but a nickel plated one.
And of course I will add "I HATE nickel plated guns.......but just for the heck of it I will still offer him a low-ball price just to "get it off his hands".

If you can get this nickel camp 9 for the right price I would. I collect these Marlin camp guns and have never seen in person the nickel 9. This is a fun gun to plink with nothing is cheaper to shoot other than a 22 LR.0 -
