Hornady 366

I know the Hornady Apex loader had adjustment/durability issues to deal with, but what is the scoop on the 366? I'm interested in buying a new loader and am looking at one of these new if I can't find a GOOD used one. I know alot of loaders like the Ponsness Warren, but I'm interested in how good is the 366 for the money?

    I have the 366 with complete heads in 12ga, 20ga, and 28ga. A lot easier swapping the entire pre-adjusted assembly than changing dies. Got my first one when the 366 was still the old blue Pacific (late 60s), manual advance, no swing out wad arm, and no powder/shot shut offs. Quit shotgun shooting for a while, sold everything, then about 10-12 years ago decided to start again. Naturally, I had to replace virtually everything. Since I was very familiar with the 366, that is what I went with. This press will make a reload equal to anything else out there and do it for a long, long time. Only thing I don't like is the fact you have to clear the entire press by rotating all the shells around and out, to remove any spilled shot or powder. There is no other way to remove an individual hull, unless Hornady has made some change. My press is 10 years old so there may be some change since I bought mine. The only thing I would suggest is to have a spare shell plate advance dog, once they start to slip a tiny bit, it becomes a real pain. I like mine alot and for the money, I think, they are a good value. The 366 and it's predecessor, the 360, have been around for quite some time so most of the bugs have long since been worked out. Also, I have always had very good service from Hornady. I don't think you will go wrong if you buy one.

    ive got two of them and use them quit a bit. the old one is 30 years old.i converted it to 20 since it is the manual everything. my newer on is a twelve with the auto advance. i like it to. the one thing i would do is put a (cant remember the name) but is like a tiny shock absorber. makes the auto advance not so jumpy. like ROYSHA said i would keep an extra advance foot handy. for the money it is a good loader. might also upgrade to the primer shut off that i have heard is available.
    the 30 year old one hasent had anything done to it except cleaning and oiling. and the mod to 20. I only had to adjust it when i moved to a new house. think it got jostled a little. one adjustment in 30 years aint bad.
