Remington-Browning .22LR info needed
Howdy all. I am in a search for any information (or where to get info) on a Remington-Browning .22LR semi-auto rifle. A co-worker used to have one (was recently stolen) and wanted info on it. He said it was just like the rifle that Browning Arms is currently producing http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/firearms/detail.asp?value=005B&cat_id=021&type_id=001. I need to know what the model was, why it was "Remington-Browning", and any other info anyone has. Thanks.

That's a start. Thanks. He tells me that it had "Remington-Browning" stamped on the bottom of the receiver, that it was a take-down using a button inside the action. On a recent search, all I could find was someone asking about his "Browning-Remington" 16ga. shotgun. Were the two company's merged at one time? Or is this because Browning designed it?

The gentleman is correct. The Remington Model 24 was based on a Browning patent and that bit of information is inscribed on the barrel, at least it is on mine. I don't know about the Model 241. You should be able to find a Model 24 in good shape for anywhere between $225 and $300, depending on your geographic location. There is currently one for sale on another site for $295. Best of luck. This is interesting. My co-worker got $1500 for his from the insurance company, and they seemed happy that he settled for that. That's $1500 for that particular rifle, not all of his rifles.

Remington model 24A take-down. Tubular magazine inthe stock. holds 10 .22LR, ejects through bottom of receiver, 21" barrel. NIB= $400, Ex= $275, Gd= $175. Whoa! He did good getting $1500 for it from the insurance.
