Brolin Arms 1911 style .45 acp
What can you tell me about the quality and price of the basic Brolin .45 ACP? I know the company has closed. Were their guns US made or imported? I've heard US made, and also that they were from the Philipines. Whats the real story? Thanks for any replies.

I purchased a pre-owned Brolin L45 on the internet a few years ago and on balance I am pleased with the piece. Not the best of the best, but far from worst. Fit and finish are OK, it shoots fine. Certainly not a collector 1911..!! I have always heard that they were manufactured in Pomona, Ca. Lots of McCormick etal parts and not the highest of quality. Yes, they are OB...

Brolin Arms sold 1911-pattern pistols built on frames originally made by J's Pacific Enterprise in Pomona CA. Early Brolin Arms pistols will have JPE-prefix serial numbers. Due to some of the other business associations of "J's Pacific Enterprise" I would not be surprised if the frame was not imported in 80% condition and finished in California, then assembled in various configuratins and marketed by Brolin Arms. The long guns that Brolin sold were all straight-up imports.
