AK WASR What is it??

I have several AK's in 7.62 X 39 caliber. I got this catalogue today that is selling
"Romanian AK GPWASR" rifles in 7.62 X 39 mm. They are also selling "Romanian AK WASR in 5.45 X .223" caliber. They both accept 30 round mags. What is the difference between these and my Chinese and Russian AK's?? Thanks.

    wasr is imported as a single stack (read 10rd mag ) and then milled out to accept double stack mags

    Nice looking weapon, drobs. Since the WASR is apparently converted into a high capacity firearm is there any difference in quality between an AK originally made to accept 30 round double stack mags and the WASR after it has been modified and milled to accept the 30 round mags?

    For what its worth and nothing against the weapon above,Ive had two wasr's and had problems with both in the fact that as they are milled out after reciever is stamped loading and unloading the mags seemed to work the reciever loose or spread it out causing malfunction and jamming problems that i have not had with a standard hi-cap reciever

    If you have Chinese,and Russian Ak's already, You will only be let down. but i'm partial to Chinese....just my 2cents.

    I had to take a dremmel tool to the magwell on mine to get mags to easily realease. Otherwise they were a pita to get in and out but I knew that going in.

    My sar1 and my wasr10 both had aweful scratched up finishes. The SAR1 has the standard "dimples" in the receiver the Wasr10 didn't. Both guns work great with a little tweeking.

    The site is getting a little dated now, but I believe you can apply most of what is said there to the WASR10.
