Ruger Black Hawk
I'm looking to buy a .41 mag revolver. Don't want to spend a lot of money on it, The Ruger Black Hawk seems reasonably priced, but don't know much about them, anybody have any experiance with them or know any other gun that is good buy for the money.

Very strong and durable revolvers. Accuracy is good and they are pretty smooth. The Blackhawk is a single-action revolver so you have to pull the hammer back for each shot. If you want a double-action look at the Redhawk series.

Fo the money I don't think you could get a better gun. Rugers are known to be over built. First handgun I ever owned was a gift from my father, a super blackhawk in 44mag. You can find used models under $300. 0 -
I've been deer hunting with a Super Blackhawk 44 Mag. for 14 years and it's an exceptional firearm. As a single action it's design for roll back upon recoil takes alot or punishment out of range shooting with hot loads. Must have over 9,000 rds. thru it and it's tight as ever. You should get an overwhelmingly positive response on this revolver. I've got the Super Blackhawk and I absolutely love it. Thousands of rounds and no sign of wear so far.

Any particular reason why you want a .41 Magnum ? I would think a .44 Magnum in a Super Blackhawk would be a much better option since it is more powerful and ammo should be more available & probably cheaper. 0 -
I have both the .357, and the Super Blackhawk in .44 magnum. Both are great guns. They shoot well, are durable, and easy to clean - and Ruger stands behind them 100%. Unless you need double action, you can't beat them for the money.

I agree with all the others on the Blackhawk, but I would most certanly go for the .44 mag unless you reload and cast your own bullets.You can also put .44 specials through it for light loads if you do not reload. .41 mag ammo is pretty steep in my neck of the woods and it isn't offered in too many configurations. 0 -
I also agree. Don't limit yourself with a 41 Mag. #1 - ammo will be more difficult to find everywhere. #2 - you can shoot 44 specials until you feel comfortable with the firearm. #3 - you can then upgrade to 44 mag ammo. #4 - there is a much wider bullet selection with the 44. #5 - resale with a 44 is much easier than a 41. Unless you are a tiny person, get the 44. If you are a tiny person. the 41 is not going to be good either.

You can't go wrong with a Ruger for a single action. I've owned 2 .44 Super Blackhawks (kick me for letting them both go, please) and never had a bit of trouble from either one. I do strongly recommend a Pachmayer grip for shooting hot loads.

If you really mean "any other gun" the S&W model 10 .38 special is often a great buy at around $150 or so. If you meant in .41 mag, stick with the Ruger.
