Hopkins and Allen 12 gauge
Just picked up a Hopkins & Allen 12 gauge. And can not find any info on it in any of my books. I know it is not a high price gun, but just want some more info on it. No where on it is t marked what gauge, but was told it was a 12, and a 12 shell chambers. THe only markings on it are Hopkins & Allen, Arms Company, Norwich CONN USA. The seral # 2382. It is a break action with internal hammer, with the barrel release on top. Under the barrel release s the safety. Any info is welcome.

I assume that what you are trying to describe is a 12 gauge single shot break-open shotgun with a 2-3/4-inch chamber? The marking indicates that it was made sometime after 1896.
