Savage Mod. 99, Full Octagonal barrel, (worth?)
Savage Mod. 99, Full Octagonal barrel,caliber 303 Savage, made 1903. I have the box of shells that were bought with this gun and of the box of 20 shells 10 are gone. The old man that the gun came from said his father had bought the gun new and that the 10 shells were all that had ever been fired thru the gun. Gun is almost mint. One small chip out of stock at top back of tang. Otherwise finish and action are excellent. Internal 5 shot rotary brass magazine. Any idea how much a gun like this would be worth?[?]

Thanks Bert. I am torn between keeping the gun or letting it go. I'm more into collecting old military guns than something like the Savage, but the price was right and I couldn't pass it up. How about any of you Savage collectors out there! Any interest? Thanks...... 0 -
BertH has the price about right for the right collector. Values depend greatly upon condition and other factors like if it is a take down model, caliber and so on. In that condition bottom value should be around $750, and it might go above $1000 to the right collector, but without box, inserts and new (unfired) conditon it will not bring a top collector price. Look at some of the closed auctions here to get an idea of what guns are going for, rather than what is asked. 0
