Cheap rare Python, HELP

O.K, I got this Python for cheap.
Had to replace hammer, trigger and the hand. Had it timed.
Now the rare part, the single action trigger pull is HARD, maybe 6-8 #, double action is good.
Question: What to do
A. Have it worked on local ?
B. Send it to Colt ?
C. Put in set of lite Wolf springs ?
D. Buy a Dremal tool ?
What's the deal with Colts repair ? cost ? Time ?
Any ideas........

    Pythons have had engineering changes over the years, & some small parts are specific to certain years; one or more parts that you replaced were probably wrong. And/or, the parts needed to be hand fitted, just as they were when the gun was made. Only a handful of repair places have the early parts. Colt does not work on guns not currently being sold, as they made an economic decision not to stock parts for obsolete guns.

    Based on nmeyers post - Seems like a first step should be a detailed comparison of the original parts with the replacements.

    Just my 2c is, send it back to colt if you can afford it. While it's there they will go over it thouroughly and make sure you get it back in as new condition as possible. Also just like the others have told you, there are some excellent gunsmiths around that will probably be cheaper than colt. Look into them also.

    Wanting the best work and not wanting to take a chance I'll be sending it back to Colt.

    I agree with nmyers, I've had work done there on several different times and are very happy with price and work, you will not be disappointed.
