BOSS systems on browning rifles

I'm looking at the browning rifles. Does anyone have any experience with the BOSS accurizing system? I want my gun to be at least 1" at 100 yds, so the BOSS system seems like it would help with that goal, but I have no real world experience with it. Any input would be helpful.

    1" without the boss is quite possible for most any rifle by rem/win/ruger/tikka/savage/sako/etc etc. The BOSS does work, a pard has had several and they all have done well when the sweet spot was found. I don't think you need the boss if 1" is your goal. Spend the extra cash toward a better scope.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    I have the boss on a SS Mdl 70 Classic in .338 winchester magnum.

    The BOSS helps find the sweet spot in the barrel harmonics, increasing accuracy. It also reduces felt recoil by about 30 percent, that can help accuracy too. It makes HOT .338 win mag loads feel like shooting a 30-06.

    The drawback is a lot of muzzle blast and increased noise, make sure you have good hearing protection.

    My .338 will shoot an inch group if I do my part. It will do a lot better If I am having a good day.

    The winchester model 70 in .308 I bought for my son has a Boss on it as well. The rifle consistenly shoots 5/8ths" groups with factory federal ammo using the recommended setting for 150 grain ammo. Quite amazing.

    SAKO guarantees 1 MOA aout of the box. All rifles are test fired to these grups before they are sold. Many other quality rifles can do the same. Browning is a great gun and I have heard good reports on the BOSS system, but I think it is ugly. That, boviously, is only my opinion.

    I have an A-Bolt Stainless Stalker in 270 WSM without BOSS. It will shoot under MOA with several factory loads. I haven't gotten around to handloading for it yet, because it shoots the factory loads so well. I would expect to improve on its performance once I finally get around to working up a load specifically for it.

    I don't like breaks on hunting rifles because of the noise and muzzle blast. I guess one of the nice things about the BOSS system is that there is one available without ports in it, so you can tune a load to your gun without having the increased noise and blast. It's up to you, but I don't think BOSS is really that necessary for the accuracy level you're looking for.

    My A-Bolt .270 Composite Stalker will do under an inch,without
    the BOSS,if I do my job.

    I've got a BAR in 30-06 with the BOSS system. While I do like it, I'm not sure I'd buy another. The muzzle brake does an excellent job of reducing recoil, and adjusting it definitely affects how the shots group. However, I really don't need another gun with this much recoil. If I buy another, I'll probably just go with a .243 for the reduced recoil.
