Mauser experts, I need some guidance

I have this rifle listed here on Gunbroker but I am really not sure if I have it priced correctly, I know nothing about this type of rifle and an listing it for a friend. I would appreciate any feedback you can provide.

  I can't answer your specific question about the gun, but in your auction I can tell you (constructively, not being mean) that your description won't sell your rifle.

  My 2?, the rifle is a 98 Military Mauser made in the Danzig arsenal sometime prior to 1918. It's in poor condition and the way it's been sporterized leaves a lot to be desired. Believe you have priced, way to high. Probably would realistically sell for between $300 & $400.

  I would drop that price to under 200. Looke at all the other mauser action auctions, there is a lot.

  At a recent show a buddy of mine picked up a very similar rifle, but in 85% condition, in 8mmMauser for $450. It came with double set triggers, claw scope mounts, barrel mount sling swivel, the same stock, everything yours has less the scope. If you could find a collector who really wanted that particular rifle and scope you could probably get that sort of money. At an open auction I don't think you can get even half of what you have it up for. Maybe if you could provide some really impressive provenoncal(sp?)history on it, but still they aren't that rare.

  It's unique in a way but I wouldn't pay more than $200.00. however, if you found a collector for that particular rifle and had some history behind it, it may bring as much as $400.00. But that is getting into the collectors realm and that isn't my thing.
  
  You might also try what was suggested and list this as a Danzig GEW 98
