Rifle Value - A Bolt
A friend that I was talking to this weekend has offered to sell me the following rifle. I have NO CLUE if the $700.00 he wants for the rifle is a good price so please weigh in if you will.
A Browning A Bolt Wood/Blue with "CLASSIC" engraved on the left side of the rifle, opposite the bolt. The wood is what I would describe as fair, with dings and scratches that look like it was kept behind the seat a lot. The barrel measures 21" from the muzzle to the point where the transition from round to octagon occurs. There is a mark reading "NP" at the base of the barrell and some pretty engraving on both sides of the bolt area.
It has a Leupold scope "VXII 3-9x50mm" that is mounted and sighted.
The gun shoots very well...I have shot 10 rounds through it and the scope seems to be "dialed in" at about 100 yards.
It has a sling and a little dohicky vthat holds ten rounds on the stock...an elastic deal.
Please offer opinion.

Well, just looking at the A bolts on the auction blocks it looks like a good price since the scope is attached. A fine scope I might add!

Just out of curiousity what caliber???? 0 -
I bought an A-Bolt "Composite Stalker"(black synthetic with matte black metal) in .270 a couple of years ago with the same scope from a pawn shop for $500.It's in good shape except for a little "Case" wear around the muzzle.
Excellent shooter,very accurate and I love the 60 degree bolt throw.
My set-up,new,could be bought at the Academy stores around here for around a thousand bucks at the time.(Gun,3-9x50 Vari-X II and Leupold mounts.)
Obviously,I didn't have to think about it long at that price.[;)]
I almost felt guilty about it.[:D]
