32 S&W long-recomended load
whats a good bullet/powder combination for my K frame? more interesterd in accuracy than power. are hard cast lead bullets ok?

I use 1.7 gr of winchester 231 for my wather gsp. it is around 700 fps. and is very accurate. Note: I use only swaged bullets with hollow base.

Hello I dont load for this cartridge but have had 2 pistols a Hammerli and SAKO. I used factory hollow base wad cutter they shot great at 25 yards but wrong twist for 50 yard BULLS-EYE slow fire KEY-HOLE now they re barrel with .308 diameter 1 in 10 twist and that seems to work well. Most people use 1.7 to 1.9 Gn of bullseye and hollow base wad cutter "WARNING' do not use this load without 2nd opinion. Go to bullseye-l@lists.lava.net for more infomation. I guess you know both k32 and 32 cal Colt OMM are rare pistols. 0 -
I used light loads of Bullseye - 1.3 to 1.5 grains IIRC - and other fast powders behind lead bullets in the .32 S&W Long. Bullets were my own, forget the Lyman number now as it has been many years . . . 3118? . . . gas checked, anyway . . . fairly hard (not that it was needed, but that was the bullet design and the gas check tends to keep the barrel cleaner) - predominantly wheel weight alloy with Alox / beeswax lube. This is intrinsically an accurate little cartridge and fun to shoot. I used it exclusively for casual shooting, but it was more accurate than the guy pulling the trigger.

thans guys, I will take your advice and let you know how it does. I note that hornady is making 85 gr. xtp bullets that I may also try. 0 -
The 100gr Remington 32-20 SP also works. 0
