Ruger M77 trigger
I would like to know if there is a way to adjust the trigger pull on a ruger m77. I have one in .308 and the trigger pull is over 6 pounds. So far the best groups I have gotten are 3" at 100 yds with factory loads. Obviously, I would think the rifle should be capable of better. It is a new gun.

the best thing to do is buy a timney trigger for the ruger. otherwise, i don't know if the ruger trigger is adjustable or not.

The old model 77 with the tang safety has an adjustable trigger. the newer model Mk2 is not adjustable. the only solution is an aftermarket trigger. Brownells has them.

Timney trigger is good. Requires fitting. biggest problem, (same as remington and winchester, etc) is the fact that the trigger pin is to small for the trigger hole, allowing to much side to side play. 0 -
Depending on your skill as a gunsmith is part of the fun of owning and customizing your guns.
Once you've got it apart, lightly stone the contact surfaces and sides of the sear/trigger. You're looking to shine 'em up; not remove metal.
Maybe the receiver shimmies a little in the stock; time to learn how to bed the thing!
Remember, it's not a Match rifle or you'd have paid a lot more for it.
I'd work on breath control and trigger release before I blame the trigger/Manufacturer.
I'd also call my elected officials and recommend passing the lawsuit protection bill so companies don't have to worry about some idiot leaving a gun out where a kid or miscreant can access it, and can install adjustable triggers again.
