Reloading 454 Casull
A friend gave me some Winchester 454 brass to reload for him. While sizing, I noticed that it uses small primers. What's up with that? Do other brands of 454 brass also use small primers?

If I'm not mistaken they take small rifle primers.

Yup they all take small rifle primers,,,little hoter for that case

Small rifle primers only, and they do prefer the 7 1/2 Remington's over anything else.

I enjoy shooting those pet loads, which keeps you at the reloading bench. Best vicious cycle I can think of.
I have reloaded for others also ..... a long time ago. It was rewarding to see others realize and enjoy what can be developed. I am not so young now and much wiser....no kiddin. I won't go on the long rant of details..because I've said this before and some are surely headed for the `back button'.
If ANYTHING happens. . A N Y T H I N G . ...Their friendly wife/mom/dad/sis/etc. that just loves you to death will change before your eyes if their loved one has a firearm mis-hap and has your hand-loads.
It won't matter a grain of bullseye that the ammo had nothing to do with it. You won't have money for a box of primers when the lawyers get done.
Let them use your loading gear if you want....even that could bite you. If someone wants some reloads, loan them one of your manuals and send them to the store. If they have enough money for a gun, they have money for reloading if they want. If not, let them shoot off the shelf ammo.
