Turk 98/22 Question

Well, I've got a 98/22 Mauser, right?
Neighbor gave it to me.

Is there anything else that you can tell me about it?
8mm doesn't chamber in it.

  Get someone with a set of calipers to measure the ID of the bore at the muzzle. If it measures .323" it is 8mm, if .284" the it is 7mm. An Burno is not in Turkey, Mike is right that it is check made. Should be a great rifle, especially if it is in 7x57 mauser.

  Thanks - it was made in Czech. for the Turkish, Chinese and Persian armies.
  Notice the sight numbers are something different than our number system.
  
  Neighbor gave it to me - kinda caught me off guard. Guy's said about three
  words to me in 20 years.
  
  Anyway, would like to know more about it. Haven't researched it on the net
  yet.
