Browning 2000 ejection trouble

I am posting this for a fellow hunter. His Browning 2000 would only shoot once and not eject the shell. Is there some kind of adjustment on this gun for field load shells and high power shells ?

    PROBABLY NEEDS A GOOD CLEANING, THESE DO NOT HAVE A HIGH/LOW BRASS ADJUSTMENT

    could it be the classic friction ring placement error?

    I would try what MW has suggested, good cleaning of magazine
    tube and spring assembly. Also bolt and bolt mechanism.
    Old oil/grease has a tendency to get "sticky" and that will
    hurt ejection.
    There is no "Adjustment", as was found on the A-5 on the 2000.
    (and no friction rings)
    A-5= recoil operated
    2000= gas operated
    The only variance of operation is the gas port/ports that you
    will notice bored through the barrel/magazine ring.
    Ports will vary in number and size depending upon barrels.
    ie. length/choke and whether 2 3/4 or 3 inch.

    i think friction ring was the wrong word, my bust, i was thinking of the d.auto; but, it can still be the gas rings on wrong. follow me? its sorta like a steel ring, then rubber, and if they are on backwards, or in front of the bbl lug, it wont cycle.

    I am advising him to take it to his gunsmith for a cleaning. He just told me the gun was underwater for a few days. NO wonder it malfunctioned. I was slaughtering doves with my A-5 while he had a single shot.

    The B2000 was Brownings first attempt at a gas operated shotgun. Some think it was introduced before all the bugs were worked out. Many had cycling and feeding problems, Browning engineers did damage control and several modifications were implemented. Unfortunately the public perception and damage was done....gun was later discontinued and replaced with the B80.

    underwater!!!?? well duhhh! of course it wont work! geesh!
    spring, btw..i was asking my old running buddy 'duckhunter' if he could spare a few more words as to what IS in inside the 2000. its been years since i looked at one and was curious. (duckhunter and i tease each other about how he communicates with about a 3 word limit.[:D])

    no i have one does it have a 3in mag barrle, sometimes with my 3 in barrle low brass load won't action but with the 2 3/4 barrel they work fine all shells
