Zeiss Warranty Experiences?
I have sent a scope (Conquest 3-9x50) into Zeiss that I bought on 9/23/05, I sighted it in on 9/25/05 using 9x magnification. After sighting it in I decreased the magnification to 3x. I noticed black "specks" in the field of view and quickly cleaned the glass. However, after cleaning the scope the specks were still in my field of view. I looked through the scope while adjusting the magnification from 3-9 and found that the specks would move out of my field of view at @ the 5x magnification point and return when magnification was below this point. I immediately called Zeiss and they told me to send it in. The woman I spoke with told me that the turn-around time depends on "how busy the service department is and I can't give you an estimate." Does anyone have any experience with a problem like this or dealings with the Zeiss warranty service? I'll post my experience with Zeiss as it evolves.
Thanks.
Thanks.

flyinggurnard,
Have you thought about taking it back to where you bought it s you at least aren't without a scope? Let the retail store deal with a late scope?

I bought a pair of 10X40 Zeiss binos from Cabella's. They are not nitrogen filled, but advertised as waterproof. One side fogged up. I sent them in and got them back in less then two weeks. I tested them by putting in hot water for a couple hours and then right into the freezer over night. They never fogged while thawing out. 0
