44 MAG AMMO QUESTION

I bought some Winchester 44 magnum ammo in the white Winchester box.Box is not marked with the fps or power level.The box says it is for hunting.They are 240 grain jacketed soft point bullets.Is this stuff heavy recoiling or light?

  I prefer a lighter load for target practice. Those are pretty heavy, after awhile it may throw off the timing on your trigger.

  Take the Symbol number off the box and get the ballistics data off the Winchester site

  Generally ammo with jacketed bullets are not light loads and are designed for hunting at "magnum" velocities. If the weight of your handgun it light and/or the barrel short you will certainly feel the recoil.
