daisy 22
My first rifle was a daisy 22. I have never seen 1 on here, but would like to have 1 again. The firing pin wore out om mine and i sold it. It was manufactured around 1985 and from what I understand, was only in production for 2 yearsor so. It was a youth model(short)single shot bolt action synthetic stock 22. It was very light weight and cost $40 new at Kmart. Is this gun now rare or? I shot thousands through that thing and would love to have another if it is obtainable and reasonable pricewise. Anybody know anything about these? Have pics? Thanks

that is not even close to the daisy i am seeking. The 1 i am looking for is a cheap looking syn stock very short model. This has wood stock and appears to be a nicer gun, but i am looking for the little 1. Thanks though. Also, the syn stock model i am talking about has a painted barrel. 0 -
I believe the model was called the "Legacy". They made it in SS, clip fed bolt and semi auto. Post on the "want ads" here on GB or do a search of the web for someone that may have one. They are not particularly rare or expensive, just not real common.

I have been looking on net and still cannot find the model i am hunting. THe one I am looking for is NOT clip fed, it is a single shot bolt action. It has a 1 piece black plastic stock and black painted reciever and barrel. Stock is not adjustable. Thanks for the replies. Any more ideas? 0 -
I have a excellent 2202 daisy it has the walnut stock not the plastic i too had one when i was a younger It shoots pretty good and now after the trigger work it breaks a lot better than befor
mine sports the ss barrel wrapped in the octogon plastic covering
with the clip
all the modles they made was trhe 2201,2202 and the semi 2203
they all wore the adjustable plastic stock except the 2202 and 2203 with the walnut stocks
just always type in daisy 22 and youll find them all for sale anywere

Daisy made a cheap youth .22 rifle exclusively for discount stores. It had a black synthetic stock and black painted metal.
Daisy refused to service these rifles, or sell parts, but would give the owner of the rifle $45.00 and a sincere apology if he returned it to the factory. Not kidding. I did just that. My rifle would fire maybe 2/3 of the time. I contacted Daisy for a new firing pin spring and that was the offer they made and I took it.
This same rifle surfaced a few years later as the Jennings JR-22. I never shot one, but I saw a few, and it didn't look to me as though Daisy's quality control issues had been addressed.
The Legacy series was a whole different animal, and didn't seem to have the quality control issues of the cheap rifle.

A little all black singleshot rifle . It started out being made by Iver Johnsonas the Little Champ. Then Daisy took over making them. Then Jennings announced plans to start making them but I'm not sure they ever started production.

AHA! That is it! It was not a 2201,2202, or 2203, it was this cheap discount store version. My dad bought it for me at k-mart in '86 or '87. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. The firing pin seemed to have worn out on mine after many thousand rounds fired through it. It would fire sometimes and sometimes not, then finally no fire at all. Talked to a gunsmith around 1993 about fixing it and he told me that it was only made for a couple of years and parts would have to be made by hand for it. He said he could fix it for around $100, but I didn't think it was worth it. I sold it to a man(low budget collector and tinkerer) to try to fix for his son for $20. Having no sense of sentimental value, I sold it and used the money for a video game-DUH.
I REALLY wished I still had that rifle as it was my first firearm and was given to me by my dad. I now have an infant and remembered how much I liked that rifle and thought I might try locating 1 for my son to learn the ropes on in a few years, seems I am out of luck.
