Trigger adjustment on
oops i typed in the wrong model number
should have been a model 522 NOT a 597
can i adjust the trigger on a Remington 597
it has like a 20# pull, feels like when you pull
the trigger on your rifle with the safty on.
then you pull a bit more then it will fire.
My Gunsmith will not touch ithe says something
like a plastic piece of *&^E&%^T.
can i do it and what needs to be done?

Yep, your gunsmith is probably right, unfortunately. The Viper .22 sent my respect for Remmington into the toilet. How any halfway reputable, let alone revered, gunmaker could possibly put a trigger like that on any gun mystifies me, even allowing for our overly-litigatious society. If the folks at Remmington had any sense of decency, they would issue a recall for the 522 and either fix it or buy it back. 0
