power belt for cva optima
I was sighting in my gun, and the frist round went in great. But after that it gets alittle harder to push down the last inch or less to seat the powerbelt, which is Premium hollow point bullets 295 Gr pure lead ones. They say you don't have to clean after every round but I find it is easier to work with if I clean it. The powerbelts are suppose to less fouling, so what do you suggest. If you have any other tips I would like to hear about them to Thankyou to time[?][:I]

if you are not already doing it, use triple 7 pellets.

I certainly support using triple 7, but that alone may not solve your problem. My experience has been that some rifles can be shot repeatedly without cleaning between shots, and some cannot. My TC Black Diamond seems to require a cleaning patch between each load, whether using Pyrodex or Triple 7. With powerbelts, I can sometimes get off two shots without a wipedown between, but never more. If you have a tight bore, Knight builds a T handle that screws to your cleaning rod that makes life easier. 0 -
Unless I'm reloading for a "fast" second shot, I always swab between each shot with an alcohol soaked patch followed by 1 or 2 dry patches.

I don't use Powerbelts in my Optima. For that reason alone. I've beem groupimg just over MOA with Tompson XTC(?) Sabots in 240gr, and plan on hunting whitetails with it this fall. Using Pyrodex RS instead of Trip-7 pellets though.

Use triple 777 in conjunction with Remington's new kleanbore 209 primers. It helped a bunch, but i still swipe the barrel between rounds. 1 wet and 2 dry. Figured on hunting day i will have a clean barrel(mostly) so i sight in accordingly. 0 -
its not the bullet thats fouling the barrel its the powder ,power belts load easier than any other bullet/sabot combo out there but still they get hard to shove down the barrel as it gets dirtier, if hunting i don't worry about it just shove it home but it just target shooting then i clean between each shot , like others have said 1 wet followed by 2 dry 0 -
I have shot many different brands of m/l's and the best combo I came up with is 90-100 gr. of american pioneer and 200-220 grain dead-center sabot bullet. 15 shots no cleaning , 1-2" groups iron sights @ 75 yds. 0 -

I used to order them direct from the company in Canada but the freight killed me. I have used for 6 years now you can buy them them at schels or cabelas 0 -
They are a 40 caliber in a 50 caliber sabot. they look like a boat tail rifle bullet. 0 -
