left-handed pistols

I am looking for a left-handed pistol. Was wondering were to go and about what is the cost for one. thanks

    Hello most pistols can be shot with either hand . Some target pistols have "TARGET/THUMBREST" grips but even those can have the grips changed to left hand target grips. There was a 1911 CLONE made a few years ago that I think went by the name PORTSIDER. maybe made by RANDELL

    Plus in order to work on them you'll have to get a bunch of left handed tools like screwdrivers and such.

    I am a left handed shooter and use the following:

    Randall made some left handed 1911 stainless versions. Unfortunately they are no longer made. The Portsider was not one of them, I believe that was made by AMT.

    The Walther P5 has no safety, a bottom release mag, and a large slide release that can be activated by your trigger finger.

    The HK P7 is about a truly left handed as you can get. An ambi magazine release lever behind the trigger on both sides and a squeeze cock slide release.

    A revolver comes really close. No safeties or slide releases. When reloading however, you usually have to switch the gun to your right hand.

    I have one of the Randall left hand 1911's. They were the only truly left hand semi auto pistols I have seen.

    It was a mirrored image of the right hand 1911 pistol. Even the rifling turns the other way. Randall was in business for only about 5 years back in the 80's.

    These guns now go for about $1,000.00 and up.

    All modern CZ's and Berettas can have the mag release switched for left-hand use. Beretta 92FS also has the ambi saftey, so aside from the slide release, it's 100% ambi.

    I'm a lefty and I recently bought a Springfield XD-9. I love it -it's a great gun for either hand - check it out.

    (I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous)

    My friend's Bersa (or is it Firestorm?) 45 acp has ambi safeties. I hace a lot of fun shooting it. I may have to get me one. Great gun for the money.

    A 1911 with an ambidextrous safety is as lefty friendly as you can get...even the mag release button is at your fingertip...I can do mag changes without even breaking my grip. The Portsider struck me as gimmicky...I'd hate to have to go looking for spare lefty-only parts for it.

    The Bersa Thunder Nine (not referring to the compact) in full size has completely anbidexterous controls. Mag catch can shift from right to left, it has ambi safeties and .....something very seldom seen on any other pistol...ambidexterous SLIDE STOPS. I've sold several Bersa Thunder Nines to left-handers and they've thanked me any number of times for finding a left-handed solution for them.

    You can also install an ambi slide catch on a 1911, if it's a concern at all.
