bore solvents

What is the best solvent for cleaning rifle bores?
Any tricks or suggestions would be appreciated...

  I have had the best luck with Butchs Bore Shine, and I've tried them all at one time or another. You do not need to run a brush into the barrel with this stuff.
  I always use Bounty paper towels for patch's, and usually a broke in barrel will clean up in a hurry. You can also leave it in the bore overnight with out doing any harm to the barrel.
  Try a few different kinds and make your own mind up.

  You are probably going to get as many answers as there are products. Most work well enough, we all have favorites. Mine are Butch's Bore Shine and Blue Wonder.

  I like Wipe Out--especially when shooting jacketed bullets.

  There is only one solvent for me... Hoppe's No. 9[^] (it does double duty as a good cologne too... any woman attracted to it is a definite keeper[:D])

  For removing powder residue--Hope's #9 or Shooters Choice. For removing copper fouling--Shooters Choice, Butch's Bore Shine followed by G B bore paste and followed by another patch or two cleaning with Hope's #9. Dry good with clean patches and oil with Break Free or Kroil.
