Trouble with Weatherby Mk 5 safety

Gentlemen:
My safety "lever" is NOT moveable to the "safe" position, when the bolt is closed. Can anyone suggest source of the problem?

    [8D]--safety on all Vanguards and MK 5's is immobile when bolt is closed without COCKING!!!--JIMBO

    Thanks....but if bolt is closed to cock action, and then attempt to move safety to "safe" position........not do-able. I can put gun on "safe" only before bolt is closed.

    [8D]--Yo Alex, you might give Wby a call at 1-805-466-1767 and ask about your MK 5 problem. They have updated two of my Vanguard safety's (free) and answer all questions easily --good luck--JIMBO

    I have had the same experience with Weatherby. They had a recall on certain Vangards and Mark 5's safety mechanisms. I called them and they sent a special envelope to ship the bolt back. I received my repaired bolt back in about 7 days. Very good service.
